Paying invoices with auto-pay

This article reviews how auto-payments work with Finli invoices.

Finli allows you to save your payment information so that we can process auto-payments on your behalf.  This is a great feature to avoid late fees and the hassle of entering in payment information every time a payment is due.

Auto-payments are initiated on the "Due Date" of an invoice.

How Autopayments work

When you enter in your payment information for an invoice we'll enroll you into auto-pay for future invoices as long as those invoices meet our auto-payment criteria:

  • The invoice is issued to you at least 5 days before the due date - If the business issues an invoice that is due immediately, you'll need to review and approve the invoice. We will never auto-pay an invoice where you don't have at least 5 days to review the charges
  • You haven't paused the payment or removed your payment information - You can always suspend the auto-payment by selecting "Pause Payment" in the Finli app, removing your bank account information in the Finli app, or by emailing
  • The charge is from an approved business - Lots of people use Finli to pay multiple businesses.  We'll only pull auto-payments for businesses you approve

How to enroll in autopay

Enrolling in autopay couldn't be simpler.  If you're paying an invoice through the payment link you received by text message or email, just make sure to select "yes" on the enrollment option.

If you're paying an invoice through the Finli app, simply accepting the business and adding your payment information is sufficient.

Autopayment terms

When you sign-up for autopayment, you'll receive an email indicating the payment terms which we've also put here:

By approving this business, you authorize Finli to pull funds from the saved account whenever an invoice is due by this business.

You will be provided an invoice with charges to be auto-paid at least five (5) days prior to any amount being auto-paid from your account. During that period, you have the right to cancel your payment and may do so by reaching out to Finli at, by selecting “Pause Payment” in the Finli app, or by removing your payment information from the Finli App. In addition to receiving the invoice by email, you’ll receive a 2 day notice before the due date and a receipt of each payment. Each payment will show up on your credit/debit card or bank statement.

You understand that this authorization will remain in effect until you cancel it.

Payments will be debited from your account on the due date or after. If the above noted due dates fall on a weekend or holiday, you understand that the payments may be executed on the next business day. For ACH debits to my checking/savings account, you understand that because these are electronic transactions, these funds may be withdrawn from my account as soon as the above noted transaction due dates. Payments may be made up to 30 days after the due date if a payment method is updated after the due date as an additional attempt due to an issue with the first payment such as an NSF, Credit Card Decline, or other delaying factor.

In the case of an ACH transaction being rejected for Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) you understand that the we may at our discretion attempt to process the charge again within 30 days, and your agree to an additional $35 charge for each attempt returned NSF which will be initiated as a separate transaction from the authorized recurring payment.

You acknowledge that the origination of ACH transactions to your account must comply with the provisions of U.S. law. You certify that you are an authorized user of this credit card/bank account and will not dispute these scheduled transactions with your bank or credit card company; so long as the transactions correspond to the terms indicated in these terms. We may revoke your ability to pay via Finli at any time.
