Can I charge a late fee if my client doesn’t pay on time?

This article reviews your options around charging late fees.

Yes, you can apply a one-time late fee right on the Finli platform!

  1. Go under the “Pricing” tab on the left side of your Finli home page.
  2. Click on the “Create New Expense Item” button on the top right.
  3. Fill in the fields (ex. Name: Late Fee, Frequency: one time, Amount: $100, Status: Active).
  4. Click on the “Customers” tab, find your customer, find their current invoice detail.
  5. Scroll down to the “One Time Fees and Discounts” subsection and click “Add Line Item.” 
  6. From there, fill out the table.
